Help your students practice responding in a format that communicates the worthiness of their ideas.
Templates/Headings/Outlines
As students learn about formatting, help them along by providing templates which include important formatting assistance.
- In Google Classroom, add a doc or slides to an assignment using “Each student gets a copy”.
- In your doc, use title and heading levels to provide a skeleton outline of the work required. In subsequent tasks, you can fade this assistance by just giving instructions about using heading levels.
- To apply heading levels, click where it says “Normal text” and change this to “Heading 1”.
- In slides, you can add headings to slides to guide the students so they get the correct structure and link it to the format conventions of the theme they choose.
